yay! the rainy season is officially OVER. i'm so tempted to join NTU's surf n sweat but we're still one player short to join the beach vball tourney :( hopefully someone beachy enough will join us soon!
i had to drag myself out of bed at 7.30am on a sunday morning to help out with some edusave bursary presentation at queenstown. it's one of our 4 annual presentations and i've gotta coordinate + usher + do lots of saikang with a few other yec members. thank god the queenstown sec school-based yec is quite active so we got ourselves a bunch of happy (albeit a bit noisy) saikang warriors! i'm being a little evil here but i'm glad they stated in the letter this time that if the kids don't turn up for the presentation, the bursary will be forfeited. why so? cos the other time during another grant presentation, we laid out like 400 chairs and only less than 200 turned up so naturally the vip (tanjong pagar mp) was really pissed. i don't mind doing more registration work but i think it's only good manners that you attend when grassroots leaders and the government give you money. and then there are some impatient parents who wanted out the moment their child got his bursary. i find it extremely rude that mr chay can stand patiently on stage shaking 400 hands while they lie (going toilet's the most popular excuse) to exit once their children are down. grrr. ahh well at least everything went smoothly and it's a nice feeling seeing all the kids getting all excited and elated.
met up with the vballers to do up weiling's birthday present and i must say it's really nice! can't give any info on it since weiling may accidentally hit here but woah, it's a lot of effort put in so i hope she'll like it! some of us then proceeded to town to help hd and elmo shop for their new year clothes and i finally collected my dearest w800i! oh man i felt so bored and deaf (no music!) without mp3s for 3 days. got the screen, joystick and earpiece changed and software upgraded! yay it feels totally like new now! =D met salim (bmt section mate) there and i'm glad he's doing fine as a police inspector now! although i hated army for it's mindless regimentalization, i forged quite a few solid friendships inside. ahh! can still remember the heart-to-heart chat i had with him after he misfired during fieldcamp which landed him a confinement. those were the days...
