Was feeling quite sian this morning cos the weather was so gloomy and today's a major outdoor day for me! Thankfully the skies cleared up by mid morning and i was still able to go to sentosa with some of the vball gang although by the time i got there, there was only 45 mins left to play. Still, it was great fun challenging one of the teams on the court (and winning of course) against dark grey skies and cyclone nargis-like winds. Had to rush down to NUS SRC for the munus games which was supposed to start at 2 and nearly cabbed when very fortunately, 97 came there and then. To say the truth, i was quite apprehensive at the start as from the only practice session i went to, it seemed like our team isn't all that strong but after two more sessions by lian kiat everyone seemed to have improved by leaps and bounds and it was quite apparent during free spike, so much so that it got me all hyped up and raring to go.

The game finally started at about 3+ after i nearly died from heatstroke (too much warm up lah). It was a really tight match with each team chasing each other throughout the 2 games and although we put up our best fight, we still lost narrowly to MU (27-25, 25-20). There were several points in the match when i felt so frustrated cos the malaysians were rather unsportsmanly. They kept making calls on behalf of the referee by shouting things like "holding!" and "double!" when the referee allowed the game to proceed. When they commit faults however, such as when the setter obviously put both his feet across the mid line, they just kept quiet and pretended nothing happen. Even though i felt like just asking them to keep quiet and play, i'm glad i kept my cool and used my energy to motivate my teammates to do better for the next point instead. We lost based on the score, but to me, i think we're the big time winners in terms of sportsmanship, teamwork and learning something new especially for those who had no previous experience with vball. Haven't felt the competition atmosphere for a long time already, with supporters cheering you on; kinda reminiscent of the A divs back in j2 heh. Really enjoyed myself playing with the juniors this afternoon, but too bad this is the last year i'll be able to play for munus already!

Visited my grandpa in the evening and he's doing better! They've already offed his plug, put him on soft diet and only 1L of intranasal oxygen supplementation, which means he'll be discharged soon =)

It's a relatively free sunday for me tomorrow since i only have 1 tuition, which means more time to catch up on YE matters and the trauma research project. Haven't had such a relaxing sunday in a long time so i must really cherish it hehe =]
